About HinnyPinny

HinnyPinny is a hobby-based business

The idea for HinnyPinny came from a love of sewing and an obsession for fabrics and colours!

HinnyPinny is based on two fundamental principles:

Hobbies should be fun and relaxing

Being a hobby-based business, I am able to take the time to customize each requested apron to the client's needs and personal style.  Clients can look at the demo aprons in the galleries under each respective product line and specify their colour choices, or they can combine various elements from different style.

Hand-made crafts should be affordable, but should also be fair-priced

HinnyPinny endeavours to make reasonably-costed aprons that put the "fun" in functional - unless you're looking at the Flirty Aprons! Flirty Aprons are all about sass and frivolousness!  All of the samples made for the website are available for sale and are generally medium (12-14) in size.

In order to be able to accommodate "family requests" (matching/coordinating aprons in multiple sizes), I don't generally purchase fabrics in advance of requests.  I tend to make Hostess and Flirty Aprons ahead of requests and usually make them in medium size.

Custom Designs

If you've got an idea for an apron design, I can probably make it.  I work from the patterns on this website, but can usually mix designs to create custom products.  Email me your ideas!

About Me

I've been sewing for over 20 years.  From painful attempts at making boxer shorts in my grade 8 Home Economics class to making quilts and hand-embroidered tablecloths, the past two decades have seen my sewing skills increase to finally match my imagination.  For a while, it was a matter of my imagination writing cheques my skills couldn't cash!

I'm an aspiring triathlete, an avid reader, and an obsessive audio-book listener!  Sewing has served as a decompression activity for me for many years.

It's my hope that by making HinnyPinny a hobby-based business, I can fund my sewing addiction while sharing my creations.  Since selling my first HinnyPinny, I've discovered that making and selling an apron that matches its wearer's style and personality is a new thrill!
